IIT professor named a "Chicago Matters Global Visionary"
« on: March 03, 2009, 06:36:00 AM »
Professor Ali Emadi from IIT has been chosen as one of 15 residents of Chicago who are doing work considered as globally significant, as selected by the producers of WBEZ's Chicago Matters series.  He is described as managing one of the world's leading academic research programs focused on pioneering sustainable energy-efficient solutions from advanced power electronic converters and electric motor drives to electric, hybrid electric, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.  The full story is available at the following link:

http://www.wbez.org/ChicagoMatters_Series.aspx?seriesID=137

Also, Professor Emadi's web site is http://hybrid.iit.edu/

Perhaps we could get him to come and lecture at an upcoming meeting?  I'll ask Ray DeBoth if he knows him.

I believe that Professor Emadi developed batteries that Ed Harris hopes to install into an EV.  Not certain if the project is completed.
