Follow this link to see the GoPro video of Monster Tajima on Pike's Peak this year.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6wI_lBj3mc&list=UUqhnX4jA0A5paNd1v-zEysw You will have to ingore the silly music that has been overlaid but the sounds of the electric motors certainly come through. Tajima says his motor quit four times during the run, but didn't slow him down much. They don't/won't explain what this is about, but I suspect a very high flow cooling apparatus that momentarily let an electric motor get too hot and snapped it off until it cooled right back down. Compare the sounds with any of the gasoline cars to hear a world of difference.  Tajima says he wants to win overall in 2016 for the 100th running of Pike's Peak.  He'll only be 66 years old at that time, still before his prime.

COMPLETELY AWESOME Rich!  Somethings that come to mind:

- GoPro only chooses interesting events for their promos!
- Suggested consumption: 1080p full screen with volume up!
- Agreed that the 'shutdown events' were likely temporary overheating of either motor or controller.  Climbing is the hardest temperature related use case from what i've read.  Nature is the boss of us.
- Glad to know that someone can still be before his prime at 66 :-)
