Yes, perhaps a good pack will come down in price to $5k or $6k.
For those who can afford a new car payment, in 12-15 months the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf should be available in IL.
Presumably in about 30 months or so (being realistic here) the Tesla Model S will also be available, but at a much steeper price.

I am inclined to wait and watch (subject to higher gas prices) to see if lithiums come down. I've been a little under the weather as of late.
