Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries
« on: September 23, 2007, 10:05:01 PM »
I was contacted by an individual who claims to have some NiMH batteries available.  These are reportedly a few years old, test with 94-97% of nominal voltage, and reportedly contain 1 KWhr in just over 40 lbs.  These are not cheap, and are a few years old, but look like an interesting choice.  Reportedly they come with liquid cooling aparatus for each battery, and some sort of control system to circulate the fluid when cooling is needed.  Ken, you likely will jump in on this.  Anyone else with information.  I know these are not very available, but these seem to be useful.  Located on the west coast, it would require shipping.  Has anyone had experience shipping batteries from the left coast?

I am considering these for my Corvair project, although it seems as wrong to add liquid cooling to a Corvair as it does to add a kerosene heater to an EV.
