This vehicle was originally purchased for prototyping. Battery boxes, motor mounts, adapter plate, hub adapter, bed tilt mechanism, etc have all been developed to fit any second generation S-10 (1994-2004).
The truck was not completed. It has brand new steel battery boxes, which never had batteries in them. It has a hinged bed. We made the motor adapter and hub adapter for a WarP 9 motor, and have included the motor, which has about 100 test miles on it. You get to choose the controller, charger and batteries.
This S-10 body has a complete bed liner, and fiberglass bed cover, hinged at front. The truck was originally a 5 speed stick, and has been recently converted to manual steering. The cab has a rear window slider, and an AM-FM-CD Sony radio. The truck has American Racing wheels, newly powercoated, and decent (but not new tires) Most of the hard work has been done. The truck is painted black, and the clear coat is peeling. A quick trip through your painter would make it look like new. Additional photos are available, please ask.
If you were thinking about building a small pickup, this is a great solution. We have already included the pieces you will need, whether you decide on a high power lithium package, or a modest power lead acid pack. Find a reasonably straight , newer model truck with a bed cover, etc, and add up the price of a motor, adapter plate, hub adapter, bed hinge mechanism, high quality metal battery boxes, motor mount, and you will find yourself at our asking price. Essentially, this is a truck with the hard work already done, and you can finish it to have the range and performance that you want or can afford. If you want a price on your choice of controller, etc. we can add it into one purchase.
Note: Since the truck was not completely converted to an EV, this truck is fully eligible for the Illinois EV Conversion rebate of $4,000. Repeat: the rebate has not been applied for, as the truck has not been completed. The owner who completes the conversion is eligible for the $4,000 rebate.
Note: This truck is privately owned. We are not in the business of buying and selling automobiles (or trucks), so this is offered as a private party sale. The owner of the truck will sign the needed paperwork, but you will not need to pay an Illinois doc. fee or Illinois sales tax. Where ever you register the truck, you will be responsible to pay your own title, registration and licensing fees.
