I just had a non-running car shipped back from L.A. west suburbs. The services quoted me anywhere from $1300 to $1700, but my independent hauler brought back for a $1000. Most of the services charge a couple of hundred extra if the car won't move under it's own power, even so much as to get it on the trailer. If they can't position the car where they want to load it, and drive it on the trailer, there may be an extra fee. The guy I used did not charge extra, he wanted to winch it onto his trailer, as his trailer was fully loaded with antique motorcycles.
